The civilization of Egypt is one of the oldest in the history and dates back for more than 8000 years. The civilizations was based around the banks of the huge rive Nile which provided the most important factor for the growth of this development and irrigation shaped the basis of this civilization. In the ancient Egypt, people used mud to make their homes and did irrigation to supply food. The barter system was prevalent in the society. These people traded goods, animals, jewelry, food grains for goods that could not be produced. The ancient Egyptians were devout people and understood that worshipping different Gods and Goddesses would make their lives peaceful and pleasant.
In the earliest times in the land of Egypt, the most dominating and powerful person was the pharaoh, who was both the political and religious leader of the community. The responsibility of the pharaoh incorporated collection of taxes, making laws and shielding the people from distant attacks. People in ancient Egypt were involved in numerous activities like farming and making crafts. Artisans formed one of the communities in ancient Egypt. These men were skilled and made attractive and luxurious objects for holy places and pharaohs or the kings.
One of the most stunning features in history is the pyramids. These Egyptian Pyramids are among the most enthralling locations in the world. They have fascinated and keep attracting a number of tourists every year. They have proved to be the greatest attractions for people who love originality. These pyramids are the places where these rich pharaohs were buried along with food, clothes, and slaves!
Many of these historic pyramids are situated near the banks of river Nile and a place called Hurghada. Some pyramids were made by the late period rulers called Nubians about 3000 years back. Hurghada is one of the seven most famous sites in Egypt that attract thousands of tourists every year. It has in total four pyramids, 2 of which dates back as late as 4000 years.
The other tourist destination is Luxor. The city has deep mysteries related to it and some locals still believe that Luxor has some huge treasure deposited in its area. It is one of the most fascinating destinations on the world tourist map. This extra ordinary city is today the much loved holiday spot for many people and mystery solvers just like it was in the days of the early Greeks and Romans.
Mara Alam and Taba are places where old historic temples were built in ancient Egypt. You can take a day or tow at Mara Alam to view the temples that hold a significant place in the history of Egypt. Taba is still worshipped as a religious place by the local people who reside near Taba.
For many tourists, international diving areas are the perfect vacation places to visit. There are two major scuba diving areas in Egypt, Sharm El Sheikh and Hurghada. Sharm El Sheikh lies to the north of Red Sea and is more a popular vacation resort area as both Egyptians and Europeans have been vacationing here for many years. The local divers slowly got the feel off the place and now there is a flourishing business with classy resorts, shops and other tourist services.
